There's one thing about living in Minnesota that people will never
understand unless you live here and that is why people stay here year round.
This winter is probably one of the best examples of the strange weather
patterns we have here. One day it can be almost 40 degrees and feel wonderful
outside and the next it is snowing and feeling like it is 60 below. Yes, our
weather here may be extreme at times, but that doesn't take away the true
beauty we have here. There are numerous mornings where you can wake up and see
the fresh snow glistening on the trees or see the sun shining and making the
snow bright as can be. Some days the sun can deceive us, but we still survive
through the weather. There are plenty of things to do inside and out on the
days its cold. Some people brave the weather to go skiing, skating or sledding.
Some go to their fish houses out on the ice, that look more like real houses
than fish houses. While some brave the cold, the others find themselves inside
catching up on their favorite TV shows or movies, spending time with the people
they love or drinking a nice cup of hot chocolate or coffee. Not only do our
winters have strange weather, but almost year round we do. Weather factor aside,
Minnesota is a beautiful place to live. There are many lakes to enjoy in the
summer with activities or places to visit. In the fall the leaves turn and we
get to enjoy their natural beauty yet again. So all and all some people may
think the people who live in Minnesota or Minnesnowta, as some people may call
it, are crazy, but the people who stay year round are truly Minnesotans who
understand all the beauty and fun it has to offer!
